Very nice blog, I will say though that you shouldn't just limit training your calculation skills to k+p endgames as a major part of them is understanding common ideas such as triangulation, opposition et , rather than just pure calculation. For problems 1-4
I did no calculation at all and got the right answers just by seeing the key idea. Number 5 did require a long string of moves and for 6 it was more complicated but again, as soon as I saw the board, I immediately saw of one of the key parts to the answer which was g5 to pave the way for the e pawn and that made it much easier to calculate the solution.
That was a great read.. practical and precise. It’s not talking about general concepts of how to train, but shedding a light on a particularly essential aspect of the game and how to improve it.. sure, solving tactics in any kind helps with the development of calculation.. but, as the author of the blog thoroughly explained, this specific training method may be targeting calculations in a precise deliberation.. also, it’s beginner friendly, so that is a bonus.
