chess heatmaps but better

Absolutely beautiful. Great posts!

Interesting visualization.
In the bishops image, the dots look like that they are moving between c1 and f1.
Why are they moving between them?

Interesting.. adding the kinetic dimension. Thanks for sharing new ways to look at data from chess world.

looked again. and recently i revised via the web notions of physical entropy (not the other kind yet).

It might just be analogy, the statistical placement if i understand the visualization with game depth for mobile unit class (and possible disappearance, there goes the isolated system part).

with gaz particules. the dispersion of energy as material mass, as time goes by. I find the use of time axis is appealing to our animal brains. very natural way of not superimposing all the information as static heatmaps. or many static heatmaps.

we get something out of this new representation. This is not just looking good. it helps.

Just a note about putting some more information about what we are seeing. The heatmap with human time, i don't get exaclty what is shown. not my priority and not what i liked. but i think not wanting to bore people with data stuff, does not mean that the graphic can't have enough legend for interpretation for people who like to interpret more.

The message does carry without such information, at first glance though, but then afterthought comes, do i really understanding what those wiggly little dots represent... is there information, is this about better understand the quantity that is on that square as time goes by. or an attention maintenance.. (my reptilian brain watching for fly moving across the FOV). looking back and forth.

move number is clear... board 2D layout is self displaying with the scales. but a few words on the color meaning or time loop, does it help track reversible motions, if we can follow a particular dot, I am now wondering... perhaps some extra information than just the quantity at given time. It seems that we could guess movements. but that would imply tracking....

This does not change that just showing those is impressive.. but maybe here you could give more details.. A suggestion.
