Isn't this the Breyer? I know Lichess calls 2.d3 the Breyer and the distinction I always made was if White plays g3 it's KIA, if not it's Breyer, but I don't know know true is that
- e4 c6 2. d3 d5 3. Nd2 e5 4. Ngf3 Bd6 5.g3 — KIA
- e4 c6 2. d3 d5 3. Nd2 e5 4. Ngf3 Bd6 5.d4 — Breyer

"5.d4 — Breyer"
- 2 d3 and 5 d4 makes little sense.
5 g3 is sound. Fischer has played it 6 times.

5 g3 is sound. Fischer has played it 6 times.
I'm not arguing with that, I mean that's the main point of the opening
- 2 d3 and 5 d4 makes little sense.
But this argument makes little sense, you can't disgard a move because it breaks "opening principles" 5.d4 is a second main line, even (poorly) played by Carlsen according to the Lichess' Masters Database. And it scores better than g3

Carlsen - So is speed chess.
White can afford losing a tempo with 5 d4
