Cool Blog! I liked the explanations of the research and linking the benefits to how it can develop our skills in different areas.
Never thought of chess teaching you to see the world through the eyes of others. Good point and I am glad you made it!
One other advantage - which I think might be the most useful chess skill in general - is teaching visualization. However, at least this is what I believe, it only works when you're a kid, so that's a good reason to teach your child chess early.

Yep, chess helps me smarter, at least at the time i am near 18...
