1800 Reviews a 1700: The Slightly Less Blind Leading the Blind

@TitusPlaysChess123 I'm still below 1700, though I was once above it, so I shouldn't judge. However, I have never liked pre-moves. I figure, if I can't play rapid or classical (even when I'm low on time) without pre-moves, then I am doing something wrong. I guess I should try to better manage my time. I am already an erratic player when it comes to time limits. Sometimes, I move too rapidly...maybe I need to stop trying to play rapid so much. It is fun, for sure, but I sometimes don't use most of my time in classical as a result. I usually have more trouble with too little time. Anyway, I know pre-moves are mostly for bullet and faster, but I don't like trying to rely on them.

Okay, that's my rant for the morning. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope to reach your level someday. Cheers.

@DoomedBishop I think you should try to manage your time a little better. Rapid is actually fun, since it balances kind of well. You don’t have to play too quick and you don’t have to worry about spending 30 min - 1 hour just to lose.
Relying on premoves too much in Rapid or Classical (especially if you still have a lot of time on our clock) can be dangerous.
That’s it for today.
Cheers.

well, this is really embarrassing

I play f3 or f6 in those positions to block the diagonal of the dragon bishop(the bishop on b2 or b7). A lot of opening traps focus around the bishop taking the g7 or g2 pawn and trapping the rook, so I always make sure to play it against openings that focus on that bishop.

Also, I didn't premove in game 2, my arm brushed the keyboard by accident and it made the stupidest move of all time :(
