Nepo is going to win the candidates again. There is no doubt, then Ding drops out and he has to play second place person.

Magnus stopped defending his world title because of motivational reasons. He won all classical world championship matches between 2013 and 2021. He was qualified to join the candidates tournament but turned down his invitation , so they replaced him with Nijat Abasov.
My prediction: -pain-
On a more serious note: The winner of of the men's Candidates (probably Hikaru) will very likely defeat poor Ding.
