Marshall ALTO U1600 Recap

Even if white hadn't blundered the queen black is still completely winning, the passive bishop and king combined with black's active knight makes it impossible for white to defend their pawns effectively, letting black win white's pawns and the game.

You're a 1300? You play way better!

Jeez you are underrated.

I think you should try to play higher rated opponents instead of people over 300 rating less than you. And losing to them is a different matter. Playing low rated opponents only gets you used to low quality play.

I almost skipped this tournament when I saw the advanced entries. However, I'm trying to support the ALTO tournaments at Marshall Chess Club, so I played. If you check out some of my other tournament recaps, you'll find that I usually play up.

cool, but i agree with @AnshFortnite1 that you should really avoid playing againsy lower-rated plaayers, somtimes they under-ratted, and you lose alot of rating

@noahlz true, but winning give you motivation (assuming you don't get over-condifent) is important. If you have an unwavering confidence, that is really great, but for many people (speaking for myself also) is a demotivating experience, though playing against lower-rateds is great
