Why do we keep losing against the London System ?

I do not understand 5...Bd6. Why trade the good bishop Bf8, not on the color of the own pawns e6, d5 for white's bad bishop Bf4 on the color of his own pawns d4, e3, c3, albeit outside the pawn chain.
Besides the move Bf4 violates the opening principle to develop knights first and only the bishops.
The downside of Bf4 is that it leaves pawn b2 without protection.
In my opinion the response should involve ...c5, and ...Qb6 in some move order to attack pawn b2.

Like explained, those lines can get out of hand- try my lines first :D
