Collaborate with other coaches - Let’s say you are an 1800-rated chess coach, you can collaborate with some 2300-rated chess coaches and exchange beginner and advanced-level students with each other. Student’s also get exposure and it’s a win-win situation for both.
It was an interesting, again from you, insight into a part of chess, we do not hear as explicit angle from that much, or that I did not see. Never know what we don't know, even when we keep a daily eye open on Lichess for 4-5 years so far, while main our main user case is the board games waiting for this user attention every day (parallel correspondence game instances, and studies about chess theory or discussions with other lichess users met in forum when it was more visible wihtout knowing anyone yet, as the lobby did not only have the cream or the cream on display at a glance, ok. Serious bloggers.
I was not only curious about the board, but also about that notion of collaboration outside the board, possibly about the board. Having no means, and having has a past of learning on some research fronts more from witnessing or being parts of discussions among specialists (but with a common language, and if I could not get all of it, at least the frequency of their reoccurrences in the discussion for which I could understand the purpose target of pursuit via such discussions (seminar types of course, or conferences post-lecture discussions, or even some special format of conferences where lecture and discussion proportions were equal or even when the lecture serves as introduction to the discussion, and one could learn without even being one of the participants, hearing concentrated back and forth seemed to have the knack of shedding light of complementary blind spots of few "players" in the not ego or idea stealing fear was getting in the way (there was agreement of that spirit to be signed or acknowledge upon inscriptions.
So blind spots, complementary expertise if you will about facts, reasoning, or just question angle not yet considered, it would also show the words that would need fruther scrutinity as not really being used exactly for the same thing, which happens more often in interdisciplinary research fronts). Not droping names, the concept is more important. And maybe in one,s ready neck of walk of life there are similar enough structures of collaboration that might be good enough example. That is preamble to what I am now going comment more directly about the quote above.
This paragraph of yours stands out for me. How much of the mind set from social competition and its insufficient financing for liberating the life long time commitments that reaching such levels or maintiang them (if that is something that need work) leading to coaching becoming a new need to keep living, and probably the result of previously large proprtion of own dialy time committed to chess not to another carreer (unless chess did not increase the cognitive load from its accumulated knowledge over time, and stable time controls and categories of competition, I don,t see this kind of life time order of magnitude protected from having to earn a living during that hard work reducing anytime soon. Isn't the social competition lurking ambience going to get in the way of such mutual emulation coaching approach.
How often does that happen. This question is not only adress to you as if this was a helpdesk. I did not make the first paragraph detour just to rev. my rambling engine. I never mean to anyway. but here i just deleted some of it about not doing. or why it could appear so. I mean spamming more than rambling. As some rambling is often required. It is better of have the first paragraph structures where rambings of each other can be chunked by many cooperating yet mutually ciritical heads chunking it in turns.
minimall dialogs. Which coaching is the incompressible examplar of, if not just a lecture (well that is my bias as learner, but very adult one, and prioritizing the core chess over the extended rules of social compeition chess, it should not make a difference, but if it does, I want this to be part of the possibilities, that I find less and less visible from the lobby. It might just be me feeeing that way, but I do.
And while you may not consider that possibily (safe bet I would not be coaching material as target student in your assumptions), I find it refreshing to find this sharing here. It feels like a chunk of reality.. And it does look around and spell things out..
We need alll sorts to have a communicaity. Now the plight of live sustaining from that part of chess cultue and community is visible.
This is some kind of good methodology of sorts. If it could also let the same attitude of other walks of chess wth other priority as searouc about the core chess, but not the same about their indivual performance levels as seems to be most of the blogs (average frequency of me glancing or lobby duration. before go games or consider a session about others that also talk to each other on lichess.
