i really like this post about how to stay positive
I've had a friend for years who is a naysayer and it took me a long time to figure out what he was doing.
He never tried to achieve anything and anytime I had a small succes he would bash it down as irrelevant and talk about the most succesful people on the planet to make me feel like I hadn't achieved anything special.
Completely removed the guy out of my life 2 years ago and it opened a new horizon. Can definitely recommend if you recognize this kind of 'friend'.
edit: Gaslighting is another one of those traits you want to avoid :)

Hey Noel and others,
What to do if that negative person in your life is your boss! Like in his efforts to get the most output from me he makes me imagine all sort of negative future possibilities if I don't work enough and at the end he will be like, "I am doing this for your future benefit only".
I know I have to stay in this job for next 3 years at least. How to tolerate his negativity and still keep my passion up for what I am currently doing (I enjoy it, only his motivational speeches worsens my mood). Suggest guys
