I hate the early trade. It makes the game simple and boring. Scotch used to be my favorite opening, but now I almost can't find fun in the Scotch as people trade so many times!!

I even almost wanted to retire chess!!
Scotch is great, but you must take 4 Nxd4 and not 4 Bc4. That is how Kasparov played it

Well, 4.Bc4 is what I like... Nxd4 is not bad, but to me, trading like that is too simple.
I agree, Bc4 is better I think, but Nxd4 is Ok.
More tactics in the Bc4 line.
nxd4 is better stockfish wise and trading after nxd4 is actually not good for black .
i play scotch gambit which is 4 bc4 because i am not yet a grandmaster and can get away with it if i just know the opening.
but bb4 is 3rd most common what about others? dont put the punctuations like that nf6 is one or maybe the most common you called it a blunder
