This is how to never lose against the King’s Indian!

Semi-Averbahk is a really great approach vs. the KID. I used it for a little while. However, I eventually switched to Srinath's Catalan course recommendation which is the Fianchetto variation. It's a g3 Bg2 system and it is frustrating as hell for KID players to face ( I play KID myself).

Typical moves are 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.g3

The first main idea is to see what black does with the pawn structure which is why I delay Nf3. If d6 we know they are going KID and I develop Nf3, but otherwise it might be more of a Grunfeld setup where Nf3 is less ideal and things like Nge2 are more effective.
