Initially it was wrong both on move 27 and 28. But once I let it run on move 29, it then correctly evaluated the earlier positions and suggests 28. Bd3
I don't understand the "showing" effect, when you make a move then the engine suddenly "sees" the continuation when run on the initial position.

Wow I've not seen SF this confused since the SF8 days when it thought playing Qh8 against A0 was a good idea.

This is because Stockfish is able to memorize positions it has previously looked at. (https://chess.stackexchange.com/questions/33161/do-chess-engines-hold-their-search-tree-in-memory)
