A guide to manage tilt
A guide to manage tiltEvery bullet player has faced tilt before without a doubt.
The feeling of tilt is so frustrating, it may make you throw your mouse across your room, smash your computer, close your account, or swear at your opponent.
How do you manage this emotion you may be asking?
In this blog I will be giving some tips on how to manage tilt more effectively so next time you won't have to worry about breaking something.
STOP PLAYING WHEN YOU RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS
When you start to get mad at yourself, just completely stop playing. Even if it's an important tournament, and someone's catching up to you just take a break. Some bullet players think the more mad you are, the faster you get and even though this may be true to some people your mind certainly doesn't think the same way and you'll get much more sloppy. And even worse when playing mad, if you lose then you'll be stuck in a loop. Losing will make you even more mad, and when your in that stage of pure rage your not going to even consider stopping, you just want to win some games.
So before things escalate, I suggest to just take a short 5 minute break if you need to get back to something important, or just quit for the day.
"I tried doing this, but every time I try to stop playing I have this urge to keep on grinding games and taking a break won't help!" - you probably
GET A PUNCHING BAG
If your struggling to take a break and your increasingly getting more and more tilted, getting a punching bag can help a lot.
On the surface this sounds extremely stupid, but getting a punching bag can actually benefit you both financially (no more breaking electronics!) and mentally.
Something as small as a squishy toy may help as well. All you need to force yourself to do is just stop playing for like a minute, grab your squishy toy or go to your punching bag, and exert some force to let go of that anger. Once you get back to your computer just take 5-10 deep breaths and you have gotten rid of the majority of your tilt.
also having a punching bag can be good exercise after the long grind :)
CONCLUSION
As frustrating as tilt can be, its really not that deep. It's super easy to overcome, and only you can control what you choose to do about tilt. So before you send another death threat to someone, just remember that you are responsible for the tilt you are in, not any other person, and all you need is to just take a break.
In the end, literally nobody cares that your tilted so just overcome the feeling and reset :)
