Storefjell Day 3 - The Gatherings of the Women
Today I only had women as opponents. Coincidence? Yes. Am I happy about it? Also yes.The Goings Ons
After breakfast I had to change into something else. I wore a dress, and am relieved that nobody else cares about it. Somehow it feels like this shade of green matches the other shades of greens in the official colour palette of this tournament, but what do I know.
On a different note: The air here is super dry compared to the coast, therefore my head looks (and feels) more and more like a birds nest. There, I said it.
People have been talking about this fantasy chess manager thing lately. Someone told me they hope I win points for them. This made me think it perhaps would be time to improve my game. Thus a shopping spree had to commence in the book store, making my luggage a lot heavier to bring home. If it turns out that "The better the game, the heavier the luggage" is true, maby it figuratevely could apply to other topics in life as well.
The Long Chess Game
This opponent was very nice to talk with after the game. We both blundered a lot, but her thoughts about the positions and strategies were very similar to mine. The opening would have been different if I knew more about what i was doing. In my notation there were more and more mistakes in the files, though I managed to correct the numbers. Turns out I got migraines later.
My time management skills are severely lacking too, since I seemingly only spent like either ten or twenty minutes, while the opponent spent more than an hour. During those less-than-half-hour-worth-of-minutes, a lot of thinking - and then forgetting was done.
The Women Only Blitz Tournament
As you can see from the results, What opponents I lost or won against seem pretty random, except maby the winners of prizes.
The thing with migraines is that the diagonals are super hard to keep track of, especially on a physical board where you have to move your eyes to see from one end to the other. Fingers crossed my head does not hurt as much on fridays open blitz championship.
I really should rest before round 4 starts tomorrow. You can find me at board 4.
