Joining And Pausing A Tournament

To join a tournament on Lichess you have to go to your homepage and click play and click arena tournaments.Once you have gotten there you now have to click what tournament you want to play. Then, if you are eligible to play in that tournament you will see a green join button, if you click on it you will have joined the tournament. Now, all you need to wait for the computer to pair you. This may take a while. If you want to paus enough playing in a tournament you have to click the pause button it is in the exact same place as the join button but it will now say pause.

Creating A Tournament

To create a tournament follow the same steps to get to the screen where you can choose which tournament to play. Then, instead of clicking which tournament you want to play you will click the Create Tournament button. The computer will take to the screen where you will choose your tournament preferences. First, you come up with a name for your tournament. Next, you will decide your duration you can have a tournament for up to 720 minutes. After, if you want you will add a tournament description but, if you do not you will go right on ahead a and choose how much time you want the clock to initially start with and the increment. Now, you will choose the variant the tournament will be played in. If you want you know how to play a variant go check out my Lichess Variants blog post. Anyways, once you have chosen your variant you will select the time before your tournament starts and the date of your tournament. Then, if you want you will choose your entry conditions (account age, rating, weekly rating,rated games and members of which team.) Lastly, you can choose your features ( berserk, arena streak, chat room, and if you want your tournament to be rated.)

Playing In A Tournament

After you have joined a tournament you would play in it. First, you will wait for the computer to pair you. Next, if the creator has allowed berserk you can click on the berserk button, once you have so you will los egalitarian you time but you will get an extra point if you win that game. Lastly, at the end of the tournament the results will be shown, your results will show on your profile page. Also, the scores will be calculated by points and performance rate.
