Are you admitting it's an ad?
I don't know what your point is otherwise, mods shifting blame (if there is one) on users.

Why is it that many tournaments (not only this one) only 2 hours? Much of the world cannot participate in this.
I think lichess should make tournaments longer to encourage more participants to join.

it's promoting an event we feel like the community will enjoy. Like the agamadtor event, the fide 960 qualifiers and many, many others.

Lichess frequently works with organisers and promotes events on the site. As i'm sure you know each is weighed and discussed carefully by the Lichess team. Organisers may contact Lichess through the email and the level of notification and collaboration will each be considered on it's individual merit to the community.

the dates are listed in the blog and the regulations linked on the tourneys. the 20th of each month

few people wish to play more than 2 hours at a sitting and times are generally chosen for Lichess' most active hours

How DARE Lichess promote a chess tournament happening on its own platform! It is a scandal, I think I'll reach out to the CEO for an official complaint (please don't fire me).
