Thanks @frugofruit90 , appreciate the feedback. Not sure there is much evidence to my connecting deliberate practice and cognitive dissonance, or to a direct connection to improvement, models of expertise, but an interesting area for future research, and self-analysis.

I guess the one connection that I see is that CD can potentially interfere with acquiring new knowledge if it somehow contradicts already held views. I really liked 1st chapter of Rowson's "Chess for Zebras" which explored the theme of how we can't just cram our heads with knowledge and expect to improve because of the already existing knowledge, so it kinda fits this topic in that sense.
