Rk would only lose players if it had players, if anything, it might’ve slightly increased some players which is evident in the rating inflation. Just cause you don’t see some usual players you often see or are your friends, doesn’t mean it’s shrinking

Those people kept the community alive. And much more

A couple things:

  1. RK is more active than ever. We have multiple new leaders in this community. People who are trying to host tournaments and know the people who host the big tournaments (like Natso and myself). There are more new players than before and each year there is always a spike of new players in January that drops off no later than March.

  2. Top players get banned, retire, take breaks, and unretire all the time. Bijiy, spidermandavi, and TAiSThuban are just some of the most recent examples. I wouldn't worry too much as discord communities and teams are much more active than in other recent recessions.

  3. If you're concerned about not knowing lower rated players or losing higher rated players, you can do something about it! I host tournaments year round. You can reach out to this new generation of players, nurture them, and host tournaments with them and the higher rates players! Any time there is a problem, it is an opportunity to do something to fix it.
