Either way,it's a nice way to promote variants and possibly meet someone who never played specific variant before and once again meet some og's and famous variant community players and overall have interesting games. Thank you Lichess developers so much for this opportunity and everything else you have done to improve our chess lifes! It just must be said because all of you sacrificing time and resources just so we could play chess here,it really deserves a lot of appreciation from me and hopefully many others! :)

After the last horde revolution lichess gave mindhunter0101 a star on his profile for winning the tournament but they took it away again. (I don't know why.)

I don't think it is. The revolutions are mainly there to promote the variants and to have some big variant tournaments with a lot of fun.

But I think it would be better if it they don't get reseted like the marathon trophies.
