once Black knows d5! / Na5!, it’s just a bad Fried Liver cosplay and White is down material with no compensation. The real culprit isn’t the gambit, its opponents autopiloting with ...h6?? instead of actually remembering theory

Looks like you know neither.

The way the article is written you'd almost think that h6 is a mistake!
I don't get it either... h6 is not strictly a "mistake" in that black is still "winning." But then again in the Halloween Gambit after 4. Nxe5 Nxe5 black winning with -2.0 but white has a Lichess win rate of 54%.
Someone smarter than me will need to elaborate on chess psychology.
% gets slightly better when you remove bullet and hyperbullet, or raise the minimum rating threshold, of course. But white still has >50% win in the Halloween Gambit even after their "mistake"

Fair point. I missed that idea and fell for the gambit. Good use of the database example.

Ah, Lichess doesn't have a good way to create puzzles or embed "interactive lesson" study chapters one-at-a-time in blog posts (as opposed to study chapters)
I'll edit the post to make it clear the "Start" links you to a the study.

You're welcome!
