I propose that Lichess make an official certification for certain bloggers (those whose blogs will appear on the menu).
This kind of article is boring. there are trade links. Of course, I don't want to be too mean, because it is obvious that the author makes his living thanks to online courses/coaching and that he wants to have a wide audience. That's great.
But it's quite annoying to see this on an open source site like Lichess: chess for free for everyone, but still allows people to put advertising-type commercial links.
it is not ethnically compatible, not that one or the other is bad, but that one and the other cannot coexist. What will it be next time? a quote from Elon Musk with a link to investing in crypto to be a better chess players ?tolerating such articles is one thing, it's not the content that bothers me so much,
these are also the links at the end, with the promotional offers, how nice... and inappropriate. This is called seeking clients on behalf of an acquaintance. This is not charity but hidden commerce.I encourage the author to continue writing, as I do not wish to blame the time he spends writing. If he wants to continue advertising Chessbase (which is a noble cause too), I encourage him to create/search for another platform that would be beneficial for him and the community. you can even use the Lichess source code if you don't have the money or time. chessbase is a famous site, there is no need to remind us of it on a weekly basis.
at some point it's good, but we need to know things clearly, if coaches and streamers have verified profiles, I don't see why bloggers wouldn't have them and especially if there would be specific legislation to put in place in place regarding for-profit links that are not of the charity type. because the problem is that this does not have a direct link with the host site. I don't see why promoting your own team or tournament hosted here would be more dishonorable than encouraging people to click away from Lichess and go to a site where the policy is different.
I totally agree with this, Lichess blogs are missed used alot, and many chess business are taking advantage of it

True, It's so scary that I stopped writing blogs a month ago. I no longer find fun in doing this, the "competition" is unfair : just put an image generated by AI, a photoshop or anything that can be misleading, put a lot of graphics/photos inside the article so as not to write too much and put basic stuff and a link at the end and you will have views, likes and maybe some money.
Lichess has no value to became a social network.
one of the only blogs i don't liked from Avetik.

Like saying the earth is flat, dinosaurs didn't exist, or "you can do anything if you want it enough" are all equally scientifically false. Yet we tolerate the last one.
It is not forbidden to say that the Earth is flat, or that dinosaurs didn't exist, though. And for a good reason: you don't debunk a silly idea by forbidding to talk about it, but by exposing its silliness.
Now don't get me wrong. Do I think it's a disgrace that Avetik's clickbaity blogposts keep being featured in the frontpage? I absolutely do.
However, I would put that on Lichess. When social medias first came about, more than twenty years ago, maybe they could argue that they didn't know the sort of things that rewarding clicks and likes would end up generating.
But now we have (or should have) enough enough hindsight. Using the same old recipe that social medias use will lead to the same results. That doesn't absolve Avetik for writing his nonsense, sure, but even if you would manage to "educate" him, as long as the algorithm rewards clickbait, you will have ten other guys writing similar BS.
And furthermore, commenting in this thread gives more visibility to the blogpost. Systematically commenting in Avetik's blogposts give them more visibility.

Well, I didn't say that any state should forbid Avetik to write their BS, but that it's detrimental for Lichess to permit advertisment based on manipulation to profit from their work. Both because the "ideology" of Avetik is 100 % incompatible with the world or open source or transparency, and because profiting of people working for free to increase profit is morally... debatable.
I do think however, that my commenting doesn't make the problem worse but better.
First, I only comment when the blog post already reach the main page. So the exposure is already there.
Secondly, the choice I have is to let Avetiks toxic crap unchallenged or offer pointers for people to defend against it. it's as you said, debunking "silly" (which is an understatment in this case) ideas by exposing it.
However, some of these silly and worse ideas have been debunked enough already. like flat earth, creationism, or "will power is stronger than any obstacle". At this point, giving them a platform is just giving them more credit than due. But once they are here, not challenging them gives them an implicit validation and normalisation in cultural norms, which in turn leads to the aforementioned asocial behaviors and psychological health issues.
The irony is, Avetik is not immune to that and they will suffer from it at a certain point, it's just a question of when. I wish them for it to be sooner than later, because the later it is, the worse it's gonna get.
One other thing is that my goal is not to "educate" Avetik. It would be nice if they learned something, but I don't have much hope for that. I have known and helped a lot of people in Avetiks situation. It takes a lot of time and effort, and I'm keeping these resources for my friends. However, I hope (and think) that a couple of their readers will at least take a step back and hopefully analyse the BS a bit more critically.
Like @kid977 's first post on Lichess was to ask if Tate has a Lichess account. I'm not surprised that they follow Avetik as well, both prey on the same publics and use the same kind of tricks for that. What I write, I write for Avetiks readers, I at least want to give them a chance to see outside this damaging "influencers" ecosystem. They take it or not it's their choice, but at least I offered them the chance.
Anyways, nice talking strategy with you :)
