the 45+45 league is the official Lichess Classical League. The lichess team works closely with the organisers.

@lampiopasa These leagues were largely set up by users in Europe and Asia and then adopted by Lichess as they became bigger and more difficult to manage. I assume the times were chosen by what was convenient by the creators and based on Lichess' peak activity hours. Given that Lichess is more popular on the eurasian continent than in the americas, or at least was when they started, that time is midday in North America and middle of the night in east asia.
As a North american I understand how this can be frustrating but it happened organically not intentionally.

Awesome to see the Rapid league! I will consult with my teammates if we want to join it. Let's hope it gets some love and attention, so we can get a good amount of games in :)

Maybe Lichess could mirror the leagues, but for other time zones. At least make one that's convenient for the Americas.
