Yeah... I also successfully composed... Ofc, there were not too many queen in a real position.

We can take away the pawn c4, the knight a8 and the pawn f2. That is still mate in 7, starting with Rg6. The additional possibility 4.Qa8 allows an extra mate:

It is not perfect though, as the last move can unfortunately also be a promotion to queen.

But again, let's add the pawn f2 back so that in this line ...

... 3.Bxe4 is indeed the fastest way to mate (without the pawn f2 3.Qc3 mates equally fast).

There are some more alternatives, like 6.Qg7+, but I guess getting rid of them would require adding a lot of material.

This is awesome! Really cool puzzle you've drawn up, and great explanation for how you layered it until it became the final product. I didn't have the patience to solve it before reading the solution, though!!
