I always focus way too much on my rating (I play varients). I like how you showed that you don’t have to worry about your rating all the time and you can just focus on what you want to do otherwise if you are in a tournament. In tournaments, I always play more cautiously because it’s rated, and I don’t want my rating lowered from one tournament, I got really inspired from this. Thanks for posting this in your blog!
Thanks so much for reading and commenting the blog~ ️

Your blogs are excellent. On this one, I like how you focused only on the marathon, and disengaged yourself from your rating. I find worrying about rating is my biggest problem with chess: it is what causes the most compulsive, obsessive behavior. If I just focus on games, I'm much better off. But I basically never play rated blitz tournaments on Lichess because I'm concerned about the impact on my rating. I should get over that.
I've never berzerked, but analysis in 2022 showed that it tends to help when there's a large rating difference. In these cases, the result will likely be the same anyway, and you move on to your next game quicker. When the rating is similar, it makes sense to invest more time in changing the outcome. Still, playing all-berzerk was probably better than no-berzerk, especially that doing so put you in a more comfortable time control. I, like you, have problems with 2-minute bullet: it's in an uncomfortable spot between moving quickly and calculating, and since I'm a slow calculator, that puts me at a disadvantage.

Hi Dan! Thank you so much for reading my blog and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment!
Reading yall comments are one of my favorite parts of writing these blogs~
I can definitely relate to what you said about rating. I used to worry about it a lot, and while I still catch myself doing it sometimes, it's much less than it was a year ago. I think focusing on the process instead of the number has made chess muchhhhh more enjoyable for me.

The blog is very interesting, entertaining, and funny. Halfway through, I thought I was reading a script for a short film.
Congratulations on your trophy.
