The Cultural Misunderstanding Behind Cheating Accusations

@tcjohans said in #60:

I think people are overreacting to Kramnik's procedure. As far as I know, all he does is that when he is suspicious of a player's performance, he sends in a report so that the platform's cheat detection system can analyze the player. That's a good thing.

Well... people aren't reacting negatively to him pressing an accuracy analysis button or him doing result statistics. Kramnik's not just sending in reports, which could be beneficial. He does more than that with the public shaming in his videos, which creates the negative reactions. Also from what I've heard his evidence is apparently not that convincing.

This is a strange situation.

It's a game where people are caught cheating IRL, with a phone in the toilet, or even, allegedly, kill or try to kill their opponents.

But there is no way that one of the only game where u can perfectly cheat would have online cheaters.

Strangely, when I watch LoL streams, there is almost no games without an accusation of sniping.

I've also played in chess.com, I was matched against weird players, playing almost instantly the weirdest openings, when I'm about to lose they would put a queen in front of my pawns or some other weird behaviour.
Not a bot of course.
