Most of your articles are exceptionally well structured, explained, and have the right amount of variations and comments,
this is no exception, keep it up!
I'm from Latvia but don't now.
Thank you!
"After 6...c6 7.c4 with 8.Nc3 gives a big advantage, but 7.d5 is even stronger!" - this needs more analysis, IMO
Superb article!
That is FAR TOO MUCH to wade through for an obscure, unsound, gambit. A tldr; would be better.
The Latvian Gambit, I first played this line in a thematic international tournament back in 1975 (fifty years ago) by postal letter.
I am a LATAM Chilean subject, so my native language is Spanish. The tournament was named "Torneo temático Gambito Letón". The main strategy ideas were present but, as far as I remember, the 5.Nd3 variation was missed out. It's great to learn that it has been retrieved now. The historical background of the gambit is significant to understand the development of modern chess.
Thanks a lot for the publication of a 3-year-old article.
haha i just play the vienna and after 2... f5 i literally play a KGA up a tempo
