Can you give me a feedback on the quality of my annotation on my own game?

You built a castle. And you yourself destroyed it. Pawns are the roof. Put them up and let them stand. Don't break the roof.

12... You said redy for attack :) Bxh3 , Qxh3, Qxg3

Your opponent is attacking you along the g h lines! Why are you moving useless pawns e f ?
Thanks for the annotations. Interesting read.

When you annotate a game, you can skip the opening.
Up to 12...Rd8 it has been played before. Your opponent deviates with 13 Be3, so that is worth commenting.
Most played is 13 Bc2, but 13 Qe2 or 13 Nh4 have been played too.
14...g6 weakens your king. The central strike 14...d5 was possible and better.
19...f5? is a mistake that weakens your king. Better 19...c6 attacking his center.
Yes, 22...f4 was a way to save the game. That is why his 22 Qh5? was wrong and he had to block 22 f4 first.
22...Qf7? is your decisive mistake and deserves more attention.
It is a 15+10 game, but you lost with 13:30 useless minutes left on your clock. You played too fast. You played as if it were a blitz game.

Thanks for the feedback, @tpr

I know I am still not good enough either at playing chess and annotating the correct way. Although I believe I tend to be a good storyteller, I know that it is of no use to be a storyteller if you don't/can't deliver what is needed to be delivered.

I mostly blame my short attention span for the little time I spent on the whole 15+10 game. If I were to spend 2 minutes in a 15+10 game, I might as well play 2 minute long games, as this game tells me in a humiliating way.

Oh, yes. I know about the importance of pawns and that you shouldn't move them much until you are in the endgame. The reason I moved them was because I couldn't find a better move to make, which clearly shows I am very weak when it comes to choose the correct move to make (aka, the candidate move).

"the little time I spent on the whole 15+10 game"

  • If you had spent more time, you might have found 14...d5, or 19...c6, or 22...f4.

If you cant see candidate, move any piece back and forth. Protect you king.
Move the pieces closer to the king for protection. You have the king on the left naked, and the pieces on the right are resting.

That will be my next thing to work on: using my time effectively.
