cheating, a cry for help.

I'm very new here, but IS cheating on Lichess that rampant? I moved here from Chess.com because I thought there would be less of that here. I suppose it doesn't matter where you go, some people are going to cheat.

I don't use the other site so can't compare them, but in my experience there really aren't that many cheaters here. Some people just like to complain every time they lose. To me it seems quite fine.

Thanks Quasar, I didn't really think that it was a problem here. Glad to be here!

Lichess used to be amazing, but it has a lot of cheaters now. It's exhausting. I've reported countless games and they never get banned. The mods do nothing.

If you reported people but they don't get banned, they are (99.99...% of the time) not cheaters.

No. Maybe they're a new account. Or maybe they just used their brains. U aren't sure.

Yeah whever you go they cheat. You can't be rid of them. But I don't think cheating on Lichess is so rampant

Yes some people because they lost they just think everyone they lost to cheats. Like they are Magnus. Can't stop that either

If you run into too many cheaters online, the solution is simple--stop playing online. Join a local chess club if one exists. I keep hearing people complain about cheaters on this site...

By the way, some games are lost after at least a blunder (unless one's opponent has already blundered). If you are playing a cheater who plays very poorly at first, it is still possible to defeat the cheater. I can't think of a great example, but some games (after a large number of mistakes) can't be salvaged. When you check the analysis AFTER a game ends (never before it ends), you can often see a message after a move: Mate is now unavoidable. The only example I can think of is a King and Rook versus King ending. If you have the side with the rook, you WILL win unless you screw up. Your opponent could turn on the analysis and he/she would still lose. This can apply to other situations as well.

Cheating is going on. Everybody plays bad chess compared to Stockfish.
Pawncelona is not allowed to show the games where cheating has happened. That's why he/she can't show you cheating.

Naturally, we can't always know exactly which moves are cheated, but we see unrealistic chess all the time. It is possible to recognize blatant che...

I totally agree! How can you even cheat on a chess website? In person it could happen but online the rules are stable and programmed so you can't cheat, period, the end. I've never run into any cheating when I play, but I've seen several other members say they've been cheated or someone they've played has. How is that even possible?? And this certainly isn't game analysis....

Me too.. Ive never run into cheating here... so maybe some people complain but that's their progative. I was on chess.com for a while before i moved here and there wasn't any cheating over there either.... my reason for leaving was the politics that had nothing to do with chess at all like war siding and country hatred.
