Hello dear community,
this is my first post in this part of the forum, the section about chess analysis. I’ve inserted an image here from a blog on Lichess. I hope that’s allowed. If there are any copyright issues, I’ll delete this post again.
My question now would be: is this position actually necessarily lost for Magnus Carlsen? I know that king and rook versus king is a clear win, but the moment the weaker side still has a knight, the win can no longer be forced — or at least that has always been my understanding. In that case, shouldn’t the game actually be a draw, or am I seeing this wrong?
