My thinking is obvious low level beginner stuff, take the pawn (in green), gain the pawn plus an open file, an outside passed pawn with a rook already in place to guide it.
The engine on the top right says it was the top move too.
The problem i have is understanding why the d pawn push (in red) is regarded as the correct move according to the computer analysis. i always analyse every game, im trying to improve using the "learn from your mistake" feature but im sure its giving me bad advice.
Go easy if im missing someting, im not a good player and just play for fun but this is eating away not understaning what and why the d pawn should be pushed only to get eaten.
ANYBODY undersand this or is it a blatant glitcih.
Should i not use this feature?
Thank you,

You original played g3... The engine is criticizing this, and saying d5 is the best move... In your picture it lightly has not calculated deep enough yet and gives Rxa7 which is second best.
If you let it calculate deep enough, it sees d5 as slightly better than Rxa7, but the difference is only relevant to engines. Both are completely winning and almost equal. Its personal preference.
As to the reason it prefers d5, its that in the best try for black, according to the engine, the h-pawn is pushed and white must stop it. Clearing the 4th rank for the R is the best way (ra7-a4- f4,- h4), and if you dont play d5 now, black plays it, and closes this rank.
There is nothing really to "understan" here. Its just pure calculation of a specific deep line, and again, it is just one variation...
Bottom line, as a Human, be happy with Rxa7. Its a perfectly fine choice.

I don't think that I understand the machine's thinking very well, but I do not see any reason to think that 48 d5 would have been bad advice or a blatant glitch. The machine anticipates 48 d5 Kg6 49 Rd1 h4 50 Rd4 h3 51 gxh3 Qxh3 52 Rxa7 Qh5 53 Raa4 f5. That looks to me like it would have been pretty good for you (who might have continued with 54 Ra6).
While the machine strongly disapproves of 48 g3, it does seem to think that 48 Rxa7 would have been a reasonable try for victory. If you want to understand why the machine prefers 48 d5 over 48 Rxa7, maybe try playing out the 48 Rxa7 possibility a little bit. What would you have done after 48 Rxa7 h4 ?
Perhaps, try finding an improvement for Black in the 48 d5 Kg6 49 Rd1 h4 50 Rd4 h3 51 gxh3 Qxh3 52 Rxa7 Qh5 53 Raa4 f5 54 Ra6 line.

Thank guys, i used a different engine, i was just using the hce11 i think it was, SF 18 showed that pushing the pawn ws better and the line made ssense but of course its a play i would have never made. It was simply not calculated with the low settings i ws suing. Thanks for both of your time.
