Well, the 12 Qxh7# idea is definitely one to file away in your memory (it's often the threat behind playing Ng5 in combination with Qh4).

But there were a few problems with 12 Nxe6 (creative idea though it was). One was the fact that Black can simply recapture--12... de--thus getting back the piece he'd lost earlier.

Also of course there's the problem of your hanging queen. However, it turns out this wasn't nearly the calamity it seems--although 13 Nxf8+ wasn't the right continuation. The engine's suggestion of 13 Bg5 has it giving the queen back with 13... Qxh2+. Why? Well, I consulted SF about this (it all admittedly being a bit over my head) and it turns out that after 13... Qg4 14 Nxd4+ Kh8 15 Nf3 White amazingly enough is better despite being down 2 pieces for a queen--because Black's queen is rather wedged in over there on the kingside and the rest of his pieces lack coordination. A remarkable situation.

Later on Black had the 18... b5 idea (as the device suggested)--because if 19 Bb3 Bb7 wins the knight, since you can't retreat it without allowing ...Qh1#.

Unfortunately for him though, he missed that idea (and so you got the advantage). And you pressed the attack home nicely with Nc7 followed by e6. But you missed a very pretty mate indeed (23/24 Bh6); and Black in turn walked into one instead of playing 27... Kg7 (where it verges on a miracle that he's able to escape your rooks by playing 29... Kh5).

So in answer to your question: although it was a far from flawless game, it was a very complicated and interesting one...just the sort of game I love. :)

Thank you for the compliment and the answer. I realized my mistake with the lost queen after I'd played it. But I still managed to checkmate somehow. And that was in addition to the royal fork. (if my english is not very good, its because i used gg trad)
