Kings remaining exposed for most of the game.

The wildest statistic is that both sides missed forced mates, and both sides promoted a pawn, yet Black still ended up winning by checkmate with only 2:10 left while White still had 6:44. That's peak "anything can happen" chess.

If I had to rate volatility on a scale from 1–10:

Typical club rapid game: 4–5
Tactical slugfest: 7
Game volatility: 9.5

The only thing preventing a perfect 10 is that neither side sacrificed a queen intentionally. Everything else that can happen in a chaotic chess game basically happened.

A hairy endgame (and an unfortunate miss on move 51).
