Puzzle question

After 20 ... Nxc6, why wouldn't white just take the knight with Qxc6? Seems to me that works out better, material wise? I don't get it.

Machine analysis shows white is better wayyy down the line but i dont know how i'd recognise that as a human. maybe im missing something obvious

You often play a bullet. Complex tasks will not help increase the speed of thoughts. It was about this that I told you yesterday. You need light puzzles. Or start play rapid.

Well, I assume it's because of 21 Qxc6 Bxe3 22 fe Qxe3+ 23 Kh1 Ng4. And if in there 22 Re1 Bxf2+ 23 Kxf2 Ng4+ leads to the same sort of pitfalls for White.

I agree though that it was a fairly lame Puzzle (and so I TDed it).

I always hate those puzzles when the 'human like' continuation seems almost perfect and the engine blasts a -8 out of nowhere.

its a little confusing, especially when at my level the solutions are usually things that end up giving you a very clear advantage or even a checkmate
