The truth: Witty alien beats magnus carlsen in blitz! Check gothamchess video
Yeah, although I think Magnus will get better at shorter time controls since he started focusing on those instead of classical because of the deep engine preparation and immense physical stamina required for the classical tournaments. This is also the reason he is hasn't competed in the Candidates tournament recently. I'd say for now that Hikaru is better in short time controls, but soon that will likely change because of Carlsen's new preference.

Magnus will get weaker at all time controls. Even he cannot fight the aging process or the distraction of raising a family.
Well, Magnus just played one bad move. Happens to everyone. The position was so crushing that maybe he was not thinking anymore, which is a good reminder to all of us to keep on focusing. What's weird that in the livestream Witty is already shouting "beat Magnus" when the position is pretty much hopeless and all he have is one check, but then Magnus blunders on the last possible moment (Rxd6 instead of Rde1 and it's hard to see any moves for black).
I'm sorry, but who's Witty Alien?

He's 35, what do you mean aging? GM Anand is 56 and he's still one of the top players, who's to say Carlsen is gonna get worse in his 30s? He's one of the best, if not the best player that ever lived.
