Lichess Meetup: Montreal, June 29th

I'm bringing my personal 10x10 foot grey canopy and placing it over a picnic table.

I'm also bring a folding table to show off a Lowe Renaissance Chess Set (King 4 3/4").

Under my plastic table, there will be 30 chess sets available for the players that wish to use them during the meet.

Ideally bring your own chess clocks, because I only have 6 DGT North American chess clocks.

Any one else planning on bring a canopy ?

Looks like the weather is going to be okay for the morning and early afternoon.
The chance of showers is only scheduled for later in the afternoon.

For the moment, the likelihood of precipitation is scheduled for 15h00.
Maybe it will have changed for the better by the time you click this link:

If all goes well, I'll be there saturday morning.
By noon, I'll be eating my lunch with my wife and then playing chess outdoors.

I've updated the blogpost with rain contingencies: https://lichess.org/blog/XQHedxAAACEAuWgd/lichess-meetup-montreal-june-29th

The plan is still to meet outside near Smith House in case of clear skies. If there is rain we will head down the hill to the Café des Amis in the Pavillon du Lac-aux-Castor.

I was invited because of my "close proximity", however that still places me pretty much on the other side of the country :p Wish you guys the best of luck with the event and all the games to be played! hopefully I can get on board the next meet up!!

What was the time controls of the chess tournament?
How many attended the tournament ?
How long did it last?
What type of pairing was it?
Where did it finish?
Who won?

How many were at the meet?
When did people start playing on the chess sets?
When did it all end? There was still one person playing when I left the site. They were playing with a set that looks, just like mine. Only they can say when they left the building.

Which chess piece showed up a year later, by accident?

Who won the bughouse match?

Any pictures ?

Waiting for the no joke meet review ....

What you missed all the action ...

Well there is always a next year.
