Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

@AcademicNinja99 Yes, it's possible. So you're not a big fan of my underwater submarine theory, huh? :)

@Kaidanov
Look at the BioRing scam:
https://www.vocativ.com/377606/bioring-indiegogo-crowdfunding-fitness-tracker/index.html

After raising close to 500k they disappeared; only 200k returned to backers. Scammers and cash disappeared.

This e-board could have easily raised a million from chess players. I think that was his simple motivation.

@Kaidanov

It’s a cool theory, but obviously if he had an underwater submarine he would either not need to scam people for 50k or he would already have the money to actually make the board :)

@RicitosDeOro - that’s a really interesting article. Points I took from it are:

  1. There’s more than one crowdfunding site, so like whack-a-mole, they could just pop up on the next one;

  2. That crowdfunding site didn’t appear to give a toss that the product might be fraudulent. Sound familiar?

  3. Less importantly, I didn’t realise there were marketing companies that help you with this kind of campaign. The first video was professionally done, so maybe they had someone like that involved.

@AcademicNinja99 @Kaidanov I subscribe to the submarine theory only if the submarine is yellow...and we all live in it.

@Jacob531

Wait what does the submarine being yellow have anything to do with it? Am I missing a reference here?

Btw Regium just lost another backer, they’re down to 36k now. We’re doing it!

Ah, I actually never listened to Beatles. I know there are some people out there who will be outraged by this but I never liked Jazz xD

@AcademicNinja99 in an attempt to determine exactly how many levels of irony are in your statement, do you believe that the Beatles are a jazz band?
