TBH I always thought that digital age is actually making chess more popular. Now you don't need to invite a friend to a game or attend a chess club to play. You open your favorite site (lichess.org) or favorite app (Lichess app) and play. Play with real people, play with computer (it was totally not possible in pre-digital era), use enormous games database to learn (how many books do you need to desrcibe all that games?), and even play with IMs, GM's (world best players!) during they streams! Easy to participate tournaments, neat rating system and stuff stuff stuff that was impossible when chess was played on the board.

Improve on your network connectivity, my network is not consistent, some days I go all the way to 2100+ and another day, am stagerring to stay at 2000+, my time continuously runs out, its annoying to say the least.
