Can I literally blunder in my first move?

If you want to blunder on move 1, play Chess960

Don't worry, the opening books are already here.
Probably well-known example: chess 960 yearbook by correspondence GM Arno Nickel.

A move is a blunder only if it loses significant evaluation compared with the engine’s best line. The fact that a move is listed last among legal moves does not by itself make it a blunder.

If PV1 and PV20 both lead to mate in 1, then PV20 is not a blunder; it is simply a lower-ranked equivalent move.

A move on turn 1 can be a blunder, but its practical impact depends on blacks reply and how much evaluation is lost.

  1. g4 d5 ( -9 cp )
  2. g4 f5 ( +0.6 cp)

In the initial position before White starts playing the engine shows a +0.2 advantage for white. This value can only be compared after black replies to the move white will play.

Black has 16 moves that will favour black and one 3 moves that will give white a second chance.

Play a move that you don't loss cp value or have to hope for a second chance.
When you want to got North, head North, not South.
Only loss cp when you have no choice.
Sometimes you have to give to get.

Not on move 1, but on move two: e4 e5 Ba6?? just loses a piece, and is the quickest way to get a novelty in the database!
