hey
i was thinking about htis idea that every player should bring their own unique chess set to the OTB game. it has to follow certain rules such as recognition of th epieces and size but that will be so awesome. you could see the chess pieces and immedately know who is playing. for example.... player one has white pieces and the set is ZAGREB form 1975 ... player two has the black pieces but has staunton classic chess set used... so what do you think about this idea?
i was playing against a bot on my real board and tested it since i have a lot of chess sets, it looks so refreshing and interesting....
you can fit the set to youir natural style....gothik, classic, modern....
thankx

arbiters might hate that suggestion.. think about it . at a very big OTB tournament with hundreds of participants the arbiter would have to run from the place of the chess sets to the list of where each player sits to the board in question instead of just taking the pieces out of the boxes. even more chaos at otb blitz tournaments that have like 11 rounds in like 3 h

I like the idea, but if both players bring a set, who gets to choose which one we use? ;p

Isn't that de rigueur for USCF?

if u play as white, u use your own white pieces which u brought.....if u play the black pieces, u use the black pieces from the set u brought. the pont is that every player has their opwn special chess set that he or she uses no matter the color...

Imagine one player bringing a crystal set while the other brings a wooden one ;p
