- Nf3 d5 2. g3 Nc6 3. Bg2 Nf6 4. d3 e5 5. O-O e4 6. dxe4 dxe4 I can imagine this making some pretty big problems for black. 1 place for the knight loses the queen, another gets the knight trapped, the only good move for the knight just leads to a trade of knights

1 Nf3 d5 2. g3 Nc6 3. Bg2 Nf6 4. d3 e5 5. O-O e4
Firstly it's not unique as it's been played. A minority choice compared to developing a bishop.
Secondly white does not need to take 6 dxe4 and can move the knight to d2 or e1, similar to positions in the Pirc with reversed colours.
Thirdly after 6 dxe4 Nxe4 is correct as 6...dxe4 7 Qxd8+ is good for white.
