I am a 2000+ rapid rated player on chess.com but I've been struggling with crossing 1300 blitz I posted in many places for help and guidance in a community post on remote chess academy a guy adviced me to use a heatmap tool I've never knew such a thing existed but I decided to try to see what it is and chose this free tool https://chess-blunder-heatmap.vercel.app/ since I liked it's UI and it did help me find where I blunder excessively on average I find it genuinely helpful but I don't get it why I hadn't heard about heatmaps until now for someone who is so active in chess. I wonder are they not useful for majority? is that why they haven't became popular? I honestly think individual chess analysis tools are inferior compared to heatmaps to understand our gameplay and mistakes. What you all think?

Valid point on pre-move blunder checks! That’s definitely the best habit during a live game.
What I noticed while building/using heatmaps, though, is that I repeatedly blunder on the exact same board zones (like f7/c3) or during specific phases (like middlegame transitions) across multiple games without realizing it. Single-game analysis catches the instant mistake, but seeing the macro pattern helps highlight those sub-conscious blind spots.
Appreciate the perspective!

Thanks! Fully agree—everyone’s learning style is different. Whatever helps you catch your mistakes and improve overall consistency is what matters most.

The chess tilt is so real after a throw like that. Take a 15-minute breather, reset, and come back stronger.
Thanks for the advice but I think you got it wrong my rapid is still 2000+ but I struggle to cross 1300 in blitz and this tool helped me to find out and correct my blunder pattern.

Being a pretty bad chess player as an adult improver with little time,
I don't want a payment scheme for chess that could somehow even make me feel very bad.
Therefore I admire the business model of Lichess with the only pay-for-product being visible Lifetime Patron wings that I already have for me and my bot which clears all thoughts about payments from my mind forever.
This means https://chess-blunder-heatmap.vercel.app/ seems to have a major flaw as it seems not to analyze horsey site but only green pawn site. Is that correct @N_PRAHARSHA ?
By the way, google estimates my costs for green pawn site around 5000 euros over my statistically plausible lifetime if i were willing to pay them which I will never be. That's 10 times the costs for Lichess. Time to hunt down a CM title if hybrid auto-notation tournaments without the possibility to make invalid moves ever become widely available.
