very often losing
Knock down all your opponent's pieces, and he will never checkmate you in his life.

Your rating is 2200. I watched your latest games. In 23 games you delivered only one checkmate!!! You don't need mat to win. Nobody needs mat to win. In this one game, you won a piece on move 27, got an advantage of +8, and after another 30 moves you checkmate him.
Beginners, learn to take pieces!!! This player just proved to you how important that is. You can mate him after 30, 40, 50 moves. Dont train mats!

People generally resign before someone gives mate. Part of the resign lower rated players don't resign against each other is because of how bad they are at attacking the king.

Much of winning material is combining it with attack on the king. I don't really understand your mate phobia.

If chess is all about winning material, why did White lose?

Typical game with newbie mistakes. White took two pieces and went to attack his opponent. Black took two pieces and went to attack the opponent. It is impossible to win with two pieces against an army! You can’t take two pieces and go checkmate. I spend three pages explaining this. Change your brains, don't look for mate!
The first principle of the opening is the safety of the king. If you forget this principle, you will lose with any strategy.
Why didn’t Black take the queen on move 34???????!!!! JUST TAKE

@tinaseiskaffee I looked at your profile. You've been playing for 5 years, you've played 8000 rated games, all this time your rating has been between 1400 and 1500.
Maybe it's time to think about it? Maybe it's time to change something? Maybe it's time to change the goal of the game and the method of training? Can you at least try for a week? Just try? Try this. You need to learn how to take the queen at least.

No, Im really not interested. The changes I need to make in order to improve are definitly not less mate puzzles.

You don't need to reduce the number of puzzles per mat. You should absolutely eliminate such puzzles completely.
I tell all forum participants. Learn to look for complex combinations in 3 moves, and you will automatically see checkmates in 3 moves. If you learn 3-move checkmates, you will NOT learn to see 3-move combinations.
