Hello everyone, i am 15 year old Vansh Sharma from India. I just started chess at 4 jan 2024 and i hit 2000 elo in just a year in chess.com and i have a good chess carrer. I have beat many chess title players in otb and online chess.
Guys this year for the first time i played my first OTB tournemet from my school .
And i got 1st rank in block level, 1 st rank in district level , 1st rank in zone level and qualify for the state level. I was unbeatable till the state level. On 8 sept i played state tournemt i secored 3.5 points in the tournmet out of 5 ( means tournemet had 5 rounds and i win 3 games in a row and drew 1 game )
In tournmet i did not play well there are so many tought opponents in U 17 group my oppnents rating and titled are-
1.2400 chess.com and 2000 fide rated opponent
2. A 2288 fide rated FM
3. 2 times national indian chess qualifire
4. 2300 FM
5. A FM with almkst 2400 fide and he will become a IM soon.
Guys i wanted to qualify for national level i am broke down and i am thinking about my retirement.

I want to copy the trxt but by mistake i delete the msg /post
Sry for that guys and i think time has come to take a retirement so soon!
I think i will take retirement in a few weeks or days when i will take i will make a forum about it guys.

That still won't explain why your online ratings don't match your otb story

Personally, I'm having trouble holding back my tears...to be 15 with such promise in chess and then give up so easily is criminal, but I get it. Not everyone is built to take it in the OTB world. Has the internet made you soft? Probably.
Not everyone has what it takes to grind out wins from draws and draws from losses.
Not everyone is stout enough to ignore the noise from their tournament results and keep on plodding along with renewed vigor and determination - far easier to quit or retire, wouldn't you agree?
But what do I know - only been playing tounament OTB chess since 1970's.
Yes, retire please. At least the whining here will stop.
Chess is work, and some people have workaphobia.
Hmm okay guys when i saw ur comments and personal msgs i think it is not the right time to retire i am born to bevome a CM or FM. I will give my best but now i want to take some rest from otb i will practis e lot thnks guys
