I made a square! How rare is a square?

I analyzed the "million base 2.22" PGN file (dated 2013)

So in ~2 million games:

Quadruple pawns (7) -rarer than- Pawn Squares (436) -rarer than- Tripled Pawns (12579)

Thanks again!

@FastStrike

You can find out by yourself, if you have some time and a fast computer.

step 1 : Download a big chess database (maybe the millionbase database with over 2 million games)

step 2 : Ask Google AI for help. You need a little script for python3 which turns the pgn-file into a CSV-file (just like the Lichess puzzle database). Moves in SAN should be turned into UCI format !

[...]

First of all, there's no need to use AI. All that would do is make you unsure if it actually found all the pawn cubes or not. Writing a script to do this is really easy, but you don't even need to do that because you can just go to https://rosen-score.vercel.app/, enter your handle, and check the "Pawn Cube" trophy. It will even show you the games and the specific move where the pawn cube appeared.

it's not so hard to achieve in certain openings. imagine Bb5, Nc6 and Be3, Bb6, then Bxc6 dxc6 and Bxb6 axb6
