Is it time to get a professional chess coach?

3 hours a week isn't going to cut it for CM with or without a coach.

With only 3 hours on a Sunday every week it's probably best to pick - up a Chess book @SamanyayGhosh & read it to be honest so that your Chess will improve a bit' ... however without more time for playing & studying more it's ok to enjoy in that way as you will need more time as @bufferunderrun indicated . I can suggest a Chess Book if you tell me which ones you have already read ?

3hrs a week is not enough to become titled (I heard that Fabi trains 13hrs a day but we are humans) as @ThunderClap suggested using a book will be good I have hundreds of chess books in my shelf and I aim to finish one book before my tournament say my tournament is in 30 days ill try to finish the entire book (slowly as going fast won't help) in 30days. Try to take least 1 hr per day (if u can) and make a plan of what your going to do in that 1hr so it saves time, like in my finish the book example I only do that particular book for the whole month so when I sit to train I know what I have to do. PS. some people say that "this book is bad" "that book is good" but I have faith in every book that I do since there is something you can learn from every book.

Trust me, you, yourself is the best coach. You know your chess than anyone else. Your strengths. Your weaknesses. Use chess books.

@SimonBirch There a lot of good chess books for general tactics, endgames, strategy. For specific aspects. Static advantages and dynamic strategy. Some call it planning, I do not know I am not an expert of chess terminologies. Maybe you want to learn positional sacrifices, attacking, candidate moves or calculation, pawn structures, pawn play, defending, exchanges, piece play, prophylaxis. Improve both your strengths and learn to fix weaknesses. You will know what I mean as you improve. You can learn all of them with chess books. You should stick to the general ones first.

Hey there!
I have reached an fide rating of 1510 and for the last i think 5/6 years i have taught myself to play chess with no coaching. Now o want to like become a CM and break into 2100 rating. So should i get a chess coach for helping me out?
Coach is not necessary but if you have a good coach it will help you to improve faster in chess (I dont have a coach myself)
