Khrivenillian Attack

Of course, in reality, only playing Bb5 against the King's Pawn Opening and the Sicilian Defense counts as a genuine Khrivenillian Attack. As for the rest, it depends on my mood—I play if I feel like it, otherwise, forget it.

Here, you play Bb5 for no apparent reason, bishop is kicked, then trapped after Ba4??. You need to think ahead and see what your opponent will play.

"variations 2 and 3 are the same?"

  • No: 2...e6 vs. 2...c6.

"They transpose."

  • Not necessarily. The only transpose if black plays ...c6 after ...e6 and if black plays ...e6 after ...c6.

If we look at this game of yours, you instantly played 2.Bb5+ after 1...d6. Now because the computer played 2...Bd7 which is just a trade of pieces, your move was fine. But after 2...c6 3. Bc4 d5, Black is just better because he has more control of the center.
