I know what's a foster care is. But OP said 'to keep me in your prayers' as if they are dying. Bit wrong usage of the terms but I was just telling. Cause the interpretation can play huge role in decoding meaning of phrase.

You can pray for someone who is alive; not completely sure why you think you have to be dead for people to pray for you, e.g. praying that someone has a safe journey home.

Yep, correct. But how you interpret a phrase isn't necessarily the right one that was intended.
Also, no need to nit-pick at a phrase for absolutely no reason, wish them well and move on.

yeah sometimes I just wish that was my life but I guess having a babysitter is always better
