Summer reading list

Just picked up Chess Structures by GM Flores and the Hellsten Mastering Chess trilogy (Openings, Strategy, Endgames) on my coach’s orders: “less bullet, more reading.”

What’s on your chess reading list? And what are you currently working through?

I try to be working through 2 books at a time: a collection of annotated games and and an endgame book. (I do the first, then when the board clears go over an ending.) Just finished the 1975 book ''Learn from the GMs'' and am in the middle of ''GM Prep Endgame Play''.
I haven't picked the next book of annotated games yet. I'll look for one second hand that is interesting and inexpensive- buying another chess book is sort of a reward for finishing one.

If you haven't already read them, here are two books I recommend

  1. Instructional
The Hidden Laws of Chess by Nick Maatman
  2. Game collection
    The Nemesis by Efim Geller

--- worked thru it when it had another title. Found it dry-his games don't ''sparkle'' --but learned a huge amount from his games.

Do not overdo on books.
