I am worried. I like to eat tacos, burritos, all that spicy stuff. What happens if I have to do a pooey, or maybe a hershey squirts? Do arbiters allow a timeout?

I am willing to give my opponent extra time on the clock. I just don't know how it works.

That is not how it works.
You can go to the toilet when your opponent has the move i.e. his clock is running.
You can go to the toilet when you have the move after arbiter approval, but your clock is still running.
